an afternoon in the city

Tuesday my sister and I drove to Little Rock to have lunch with two friends.  One of them is leaving the country for nine months, so it was absolutely essential that we get together.  We had a lovely time walking around the mall, sipping teas, eating cookies, wearing Ray bans, talking deep, and eating lunch at chick-fil-a.  

It was a lovely afternoon.  And I found out something... I really love driving in city traffic while going 77 mph.  I may have a slight heavy foot..

a sad, peaceful, quiet place

Friday marked the one year anniversary of my grandpa's death. As we went to the grave to lay flowers, I noticed a remarkable stillness.  The wind was limp and the leaves moved gently on branches.  The air cool.  The sky cloudy and gray, yet blue at intervals.  It's a sad, yet peaceful place.  Still.

This past weekend we headed down to Texas to celebrate my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary.. and one of our adventures was wandering the streets of their quaint downtown. Isn't it a darling place?
